La Pooza is another ‘Made in Nigeria’ brand, they are particularly best known for their Lingerie designs, totally mind-blowing and could be heart racing for the male gender or even otherwise. I had the opportunity to have a chat with the lady in charge (Ijeabalum Nwandu) and I thought to share with everyone.. Here it goes..
Tell us a bit about yourself and how La pooza came about?
I have always loved lingerie, the way other women love clothes, i always found it difficult to find beautiful and sexy lingerie in my size. In my final year of uni, i started doing a lot of research on lingerie and realised it was something i could go into.
Did you have to go to school to learn lingerie design?
No, i still plan to. I have a team who turn my ideas and concept into reality.
What inspired you to get into lingerie design?
I guess my love for lingerie, i want women to appreciate it the way i do. I believe it is something that is overlooked by so many women. The right underwear can make a difference in an outfit. And can boost ones confidence, its important to look good with clothes on as well as naked.
What are the short and long term goals for ‘La Pooza’
Short term goal is to get my brand out there more, to expand to open up more stores. We have just opened up a store in abuja, and we are hoping to open one in lagos by the end of the year as well as to start selling online. Long term plan, woud be to make La pooza a house hold name. We are getting there, one day at a time.
What inspires your designs?
My clients. I listen to them, and what they want.We dpnt always get it right, but we try.
What makes La Pooza different from every other lingerie brand?
We mesh sexy and practical, its usually one or the other not both. Its annoying when it fits and feels right but doesnt look right.
Who would you like to work with in the lingerie design industry?
I would love to work with Michelle Mone, the founder of Ultimo, her designs are out of this world, innovative but yet sexy…
If you could be invisible for a day whose head would you want to get into?
Joseph Core, one of the founders of agent provocatuer, its amazing how he has turned a niche brand into a mainstream must have. I would have to be able to acheive that with La Pooza.
Need I say anything ???? Some Say No MORE persona this is!!! This has Valentine’s written all over it *hint hint*
( If you do need to contact La Pooza, Let me know and I will get back to you)
What’s on your mind?
