AMET TV – Bringing Africa to Canadian Television

Good news for the critics & lovers of the African Entertainment Industry.  The Premiere African Cable television channel in Canada  is here, proudly  brought to you from the stable of Afromedia Communications Incorporated. AMET TV is a national general interest  ethnic Category 2 specialty programming television channel made for the Canadian Cable Audience with a focus on the African and Afro-Caribbean masses.

Currently airing on Channel 122 on your Rogers  & 207 for Bell Cable Packages,  AMET TV offers programming that is indigenous to Africa. The broadcast range includes movies, dramas, plays and theatrical presentations that represents Africa, i.e, the culture, art and lifestyle of Africans.  Apart from African musical videos, educational programming and comedy series,  AMET TV offers a classic mix of the best from Nollywood, Gollywood, Francophone African films and the rest of Africa. Award winning  actors, entertainers  and comedians like  Funke Akindele, Angelique Kidjo, Basketmouth etc brought life to your homes for the first time in  Canadian Cable TV.

The broadcast language is largely  English,  that said, the appeal for other languages is not overlooked with French, Arabic and other popular African tongues like Yoruba, Swahili, Hausa, Twi and Fante making the plot.To encourage viewing, AMET TV promises to introduce subtitles when available for selected programs

With the fast-growing population of  Afro-Canadians{Africans and Afro-Caribbeans currently make up 2.5% of the Canadian population },  AfroMedia Communications is spot on with the timing of this media venture. As such we at Gidilounge are very happy with this development, thus, wishing them success in bringing Africa to our TV Screens.
